llangranog gap
Just got confirmation a photo I submitted to a magazine as part of a competition won first prize! so, here it is folks: Llangranog Gap. Shot on the west Wales coastline just as the sun fell over the horizon but not before giving in to the most amazing light display. To get as much of this on camera I stopped down the lens to is maximum f/22 and put a couple of Neutral Density filters in front to level the brightness of the sky to that of the water, fired the shutter and 25 seconds later had the shot. I made that sound simple, what I didn’t mention was the treacherously slippery rocks I was precariously balancing on at the time and the fact that the tide had come as I was shooting meaning my return to the car in virtual darkness over wet rocks and seaweed was a little less than simple – especially carrying camera, tripod and bag…thankfully I didn’t slip and stayed nice and dry. So, it’ll be in Issue 3 of Photoplus magazine folks…

Congratulations! What a fantastic photograph, not surprised it won. Well done.
Lucy said you had taken a nice one of her with Arch. Would love to see it.
She also showed me the latest wedding photos. You really ought to get some wedding business cards done. You could earn a fortune. (and keep my daughter in the style she would like to become accustomed to!) Seriously, you really should. They are such beautiful photos. You must be very proud. Love Sue.

    Hi Hamish,

Remember your Aunt? Well, I have just fallen upon this site and have really enjoyed what I have seen so far! I love your photographes – especially Lucy’s dog and the mountains, and the welsh one. Tremendous.

I will send you some stuff/pic’s re: Hetty etc – I only tend to use my phone to take pictures these days for convenience, so mine are not in any sort of great league but sometimes fun anyway – however, it does have a Carl Zeis lens which is something? But, with a 4 second delay, so you never quite know what you are going to get!

Do keep in touch – I heard the great news that Lucy is now a Qualified Vet!!! – Pass on my Congratulations to her – IMPRESSIVE !!!

    We often think of you,

    Your extended family,

    Aunt Sophie!
Martin and Hetty send their love – Hetty is just 9 – already xxx
