It can only be Glastonbury.
A few weeks have passed since the world famous
mud wallowing music festival in Somerset has come and gone, returning once again to the area after a year’s hiatus. The fields got their chance to recover in that time but June and July’s inspiring weather [rain!] made sure things stayed true to form; wellies a necessity. On pleasantly dry but overcast day we went for a wander around the
abbey ruins in the town,

amazingly dog friendly it should be noted, finding – amongst other things – King Arthur’s suspected final burial place, a vasy lily pond and a plethora of tree huggers.

Glastonbury is one of, if not the, most liberal towns in the country sporting dozens of shops selling charms with mystical healing powers, gems of all shapes and sizes and some things I really can’t begin to describe! A fascinating place for sure.
Afterwards we walked up to the Tor and by the time we reached the top the sun had burnt away the clouds from the morning, giving way to a spectacular evening with uninterupted views across Somerset and some great light to work with. I played with the mono effect to highlight the contrast around the skies…lends itself reasonably well to the subject matter I feel, all images can be found in the photos section in due course.

Is Archie deciding wether to swim across or walk round? Water lily looks like gladstoniana. Why not go to the festival next year. Think of the photographic opportunities!

A great set of images. I particularly like the first, panoramic one.
