Well, its been quite a year since I started this blog, a moment to reflect perhaps…It all kicked off with a trip to Russia where I endured -20C to -30C temperatures and learned about the fate of the Russian Royal family (as well as a conference I was there for…!), this was swiftly followed by a lunar eclipse.
As spring and summer rolled on trips to local woodlands brought bluebells aplenty fantastic looking sunsets and wedding bells on three occasions – only one of which in this country (I’ll have to start stipulating I only work over-seas!). Print sales started to build up steadily through the gallery, serene evening walks fly-fishing with my dad just taking in the warmth at the end of the day, winding down after busy weeks at work finishing off talks and posters for conferences.
The allure of rushing water became irresistible once again and I returned to rowing for a few months to have a crack at seeing if I still had it in me, despite a bout of some horrible bug causing me to loose 5-6kg(!), turns out I do and managed to win a couple of races in the process…not bad after not doing much for 3 years or so, I’m back training hard again for next season…as any athlete would confess; its an addiction. I entered the Wildlife Photography of the Year competition for the first time and got four, of my eight I entered, images through to the semi-final stage…sadly no further but I’m inspired enough to enter again, and in much the same vein as the rowing; get a stage further! There’s so many other things I could mention but suffice to say its been great. No idea what the future holds but there’s a few things I’m pondering at the moment, either way onwards and upwards for an even more successful year!!!
Lastly thanks to everyone kind enough to leave a comment on here, its always nice to hear from people taking an interest in my photos and taking in what they have to say, stay in touch and keep checking back!
