Watching the waves roll in across the flat Poppit Sands on another blustery day in Wales.
The vast expanse of sand was rather featureless so I focused my attention on the shifting waters, my question as to the direction of the tide was answered as the water rapidly advanced on my position, sloshing round my feet and tripod causing it to slowly sink into the now wet and unsupportive sand. Remember the nursery rhyme about the men who built their houses on different ground; sand or rock? There’s nothing quite like a practical demonstration to explain this! Thankfully I had just taken this shot before descending into a wet and gritty demise and retreated to a safe spot!
