Well, its been almost a couple of weeks since the smoking ban came into force around the UK and things can’t be better! No smokey pubs, not smoke-filled pub lunches for that matter, there’s nothing worse than happily sitting down to for a bite when some inconsiderate so-and-so lights up just behind you, blowing clouds of asphyxiating smoke over you and your food. Good riddance. I can’t quite see the fuss from smokers to be honest; it’s been in place in Ireland and Scotland for ages – how did they ever think it wouldn’t land here? In fact if you really want to know who’s doing what to ensure your food and drinks stay relatively ash-free then here’s a good source of info that might be useful. Though from experience the French seem to hold little regard the ruling there…
