Sarah and Rob

On an early June day, and perhaps the nicest day of the year so far, a small gathering of friends and family attended Sarah and Rob’s wedding on the border between Wales and England in Monmouthshire. It turned out to be a fantastically relaxed occasion and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Another superb wedding for another wonderful couple! The full set of images may be found here.

Vikki and Paul's Wedding

Another fantastic wedding to be part of, this time the proceedings involved an old London bus and a trip up the Thames after the service to reach Hampton Court Palace for the rest of the day’s entertainment. As an added bonus we even got lucky and passed a regatta on the way! The full set of images from the day may be found here.

Confetti i

I have just returned from another superb wedding abroad, this time Germany, to shoot the marriage of Valerie and Steve in and around the grounds of a 13th century castle – complete with moat! It was a pleasure to feel welcomed by everyone there enabling me to do what I do best and record the day’s events. Happily the forecast for a rainy day proved wrong and it all went off without a hitch…well, the Vicar didn’t turn up on time so a re-start was necessary but I guess walking up the isle twice in one day is something to save for the grandchildren! Anyway, onto a preview of the images;

Down at the River Cottage…

Boots

Last weekend I was invited to attend the wedding of Viktoria and Joel at the River Cottage, of Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall organic/green/sustainable cookery fame. It wasn’t my ‘gig so to speak but I took the camera along and took the odd shot during my socializing. The hosts at the River Cottage were absolutely brilliant and allowed us to wander quite freely around the vegetable gardens. I didn’t want too miss out on the opportunity and was amazed by the array of wonderful sounding plants I found growing in the quite orderly beds, from herbs through to fruit it was all there, even some pears and raspberries… (more…)

Lightroom Preset: Old 35mm Film

12 Jun 2009 | , , , | 1 Comment »

Right, apologies for the lack of preset last week folks, was away in Switzerland shooting the wedding of Joy and Tim (see previous posts!). So, without further-a-do here’s another preset for you to have a play with, I’ve tried to mimic an aged 35mm print look with this one – again it works well in some situations and not so well in others. I suggest adjusting the ‘Blacks’ slider first off to be sure it fits with your image. For the example I’ve chosen one from the recent wedding: (more…)

Confetti

What a fantastic day and wonderful people! A quick ceremony inside the vast hall of Allerton Castle up in Yorkshire led to an afternoon of celebrations and fun for all. Despite the gloomy outlook by the eternally pessimistic weather reporters we got lucky with the weather and managed to stay outside a fair amount and enjoy some sunshine…a good thing since the large interior was extremely dark! Anyway, a fair few shots to go through (!) but here’s a quick preview to keep you happy of an awesome day which I was grateful to be part of

Cameras, 3: check
Lenses, lots: cheeeeeck
Flash, reflectors, cords, tripod, filters: check, check, check, check, check
Now try and lift it all and flail on the ground like a beetle…check! One piece at a time to the car it is then.
Have the wedding of Katie and Nic ‘up north’ this coming weekend so packing the gear up, stuffing the car full and trekking the ~5hrs there EARLY am the day before for a bit of a scout around. The day kicks off at 12-ish saturday (weddings always over run though!) and I’m shooting until I can’t shoot no more. Fingers crossed for good weather people! I think I’ll be employing my deft tetris skills when I fly off to Joy and Tim’s wedding in Switzerland to cram as much in as possible!

Katie and Nic’s wedding images will be up soon as they’re done, watch this space!!!
