It has been a while since I posted any news to the website, though for good reason. I have been working hard to update up things in recent months – between all the other various jobs I’ve had on! – and have arrived at a cleaner/less cluttered design that should work in most browsers and viewing platforms too (iPhones, iPads etc). A few pages are still being refined and once finalised shall be uploaded to complete the site. This news section will serve to show new images from my travels, working commercially or otherwise, as well as announce new workshops. I have also begun filming projects and will post those up as well. Comments may be left below and I hope to respond as soon as humanly possible.

The above image was made in Norway near the small coastal town of Henningsvær in the Lofoten Islands, during the brief period of daylight the arctic winter allows in January. With the arc of the sun so low at that time of year (it only rises above the horizon for a little over four hours) the light during this period tends to bath everything in an intense golden hue – effectively sunrise and sunset rolled into one long event. In reality plans have to be made to make the most of it; getting to a location well in advance as the light moves fast – even between frames it can change dramatically. I’m sure we’ve all had lazy morning lie-ins, not getting out of bed much before 10am but to have the darkness fall at 2pm does throw the senses somewhat…but the long nights do bring the magical Aurora Borealis (northern lights)…
