Mist is a wonderful catalyst for photographing almost any subject, noticing the forecast for an autumn morning I made my way to the river in Henley in the hope of finding some. I was not disappointed, a low mist clung to the Thames Valley floor creating a gentle blanket along the river. I positioned myself beside the ‘Barrier’ on the world famous Regatta course and prepared to photograph the iconic Temple Island - as it appeared to float on a cloud over the calm river. The appearance of a double scull added the perfect context to the composition.
